Feather River Clean Up Restores Riverfront, Removes 21 Illegal Campsites, and Collects Over 10,000 Pounds of Debris
Oroville, CA – September 23, 2025 – The Feather River Clean Up, held Sunday, September 21, brought together more than 175 registered volunteers, partner organizations, and local businesses to restore the Feather River riverfront, walking trails, and nearby parks. Together, participants removed an estimated 10,000 pounds of trash and debris between the Table Mountain Bridge and the Highway 162 Bridge in Oroville. Cleanup crews also identified and removed 21 confirmed illegal campsites along the riverfront, improving public safety, environmental health, and recreational access.
Community Impact
This effort reflects the Oroville community’s commitment to protecting the health of the Feather River and its surrounding parks. Volunteers of all ages worked side by side to clear litter, bulky debris, and unsafe encampments. The removal of 21 illegal campsites ensures safer conditions for families, river users, and wildlife, while enhancing the natural beauty of Oroville’s most treasured resource.
