About Yuba Feather Museum

The Yuba Feather Museum and Gold Trader Flat is a unique indoor-outdoor museum dedicated to preserving the history of eastern Butte and northern Yuba and Plumas counties.

Exhibits cover the Maidu people, mountain men and early settlers, Chinese immigrants, gold mining, the timber industry, giant saw blades and timber tools, Maidu and Chinese artifacts, mining equipment, and early skis and snowshoes for humans and horses that shaped the local culture.

This true treasure is a museum dedicated to the history of the Forbestown community. Admission is always free. Times vary. For more information, contact (530) 675-1025.

No charge for tours of the Museum, exhibits, and our replica town, Gold Trader Flat. Sit and enjoy visiting with our docents and other guests, while sipping on a sarsaparilla, and don’t miss our twice-monthly Ice Cream Socials featuring Collins Lake ice cream!

Hometown Christmas

Victorian tea room, good food,  wares by local artists and crafters, Gold Rush Village lit up at night, live animals, and Father Christmas!
