Lifeguard Recertification Class

FRRPD offers lifeguard training through American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification - Blended Learning courses.
Blended learning combines online learning with in-person sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency.
Lifeguard Training Candidates successfully completing the course will receive American Red Cross certification for Lifeguarding and First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two (2) years.
PREREQUISITES
Candidates participating in the FRRPD certification class must:
- Hold current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification that has been expired by no more than 30 days
- If certification is expired, it must not be expired by more than 30 days. If expired more than 30 days, you are not eligible to take the Recertification course and must take the full Lifeguarding course.
- Be at least 16 years old before the last scheduled class session.
- Complete all assigned online course modules prior to the in-person session.
FEES
Recertification Course: $160.00
Individuals hired as employees for the 2026 FRRPD Summer Season, that complete the season in good standing, eligible for rehire, will receive reimbursement in the amount of 50% of lifeguard recertification fees.
